Valholl Ranch's private 35-acre lake boasts incredibly strong rainbow trout that fight like steelhead thanks to an abundance of leeches, damselflies, and amphipods. Nestled within the South Park basin near legendary lakes like Antero and Spinney, Valholl Ranch is located just 15 minutes north of Fairplay and 1.5 hours from Denver/Colorado Springs. The lake is capped at 9 anglers and 3 guides per day to preserve your experience and the grassland habitat. Otters, muskrat, pronghorn, coyote, eagles, and numerous species of waterfowl call this lake home - bring your binoculars!

I offer guided fly fishing trips for half or full days, floating or bank fishing on the lake. These can be modified to include fly tying instruction. I also offer general fly fishing lessons on a 1/3-acre pond on the same property, where the fish are a little more beginner-friendly. I provide all equipment, a lunch (guided trips only) that's a bit more creative than the typical sandwich, and frame-worthy photos you can use to brag to your buddies. We can accommodate larger groups or corporate trips.
